Doctor Who AU - Pete’s World - An Adventure in Parenting
“From what I’ve seen, your funny little happy-go-lucky little life leaves devastation in its wake. Always moving on because you dare not look back. Playing with so many people’s lives, you might as well be a god. And you’re right, Doctor. You’re absolutely right. Sometimes… you let one go.”
#ahhh #you see this is my dark doctor #not eleven who is afraid of his capacity for darkness and the sucking; tidal loneliness within him that could swallow worlds #not ten whose darkness was all rage and mania—the cold-burning anger that condemned the family of blood or threatened to rip time #because he was Time Lord Victorious and it was his right #but nine #glorious nine #who is so comfortable with dealing out death that he thinks nothing of it; you cannot flinch from what you are #nine can smile and lightly talk about sparing one life; maybe two; because the dead of the time war slide off the scale and what is one more #world compared to that? #he is so steeped in horror it has become mundane for him (the first horror is the horror; the second is accepting it) #nine who emerged from the Time War the only colossus in a universe of ants #but rather than choosing to crush them beneath his heel because what is one more world? #he happens to be kind #because if you happen to be kind enough; if you choose not to step and snuff out their tiny lives enough times #maybe you can work your way back to being a good man #a fool’s errand #but a good fool #doctor who (notbecauseofvictories)
In short, don’t skip nine.

We’ve put up a new billboard in the Meatpacking District of NYC.
In case The Doctor visits New York City again.
You know, the one without the time paradox.

We were waiting for someone to notice OUR FAVORITE PART!
When is a BBC holiday a happy one…
Right up until the episode airs. That’s when it’s happy
#i wonder if some people truly understand the meaning in this scene #here they are in 2005 on new years day #in a deserted street with a young and carefree rose tyler #and a battle-ridden and close-to-death time lord #this is rose before everything happened #this is the doctor after everything had occurred #it was a moment that welcomed rose into a life with time and space at her hands #and a chance to be someone bigger #and a chance to fall in love with someone called the doctor #a man who could change his face #it was the moment in which the doctor finally let her go #it was a chance for him to say a proper goodbye #one that didn’t end because time had ran out #one that didn’t end because it caused too much pain #the doctor could have changed everything #he could have told her the truth about how he felt and have it merely been a random proclamation from a drunken stranger in an alleyway #but he couldnt do it because it would have been the first time he told rose tyler I love you and in that moment it would have meant nothing #to the girl who meant everything #so the doctor used this moment for his last goodbye and rose tyler’s first hello #it was her first day of their forever and his last
Youtuber 1981TimeLord made an epic extended version of the War Doctor’s regeneration sequence.
Mixed feelings, because I’m glad Eccleston stayed away from the trainwreck that is the 50th, but it would have been nice to see a bit more of his face.
And I don’t understand why, if a random YouTuber can do this, the BBC couldn’t.
